What you can be doing to enhance your skincare routine.

We all know that beauty shines from the inside – out.

Prime example is when we have eaten food that doesn’t agree with us or we have too much sugar, next thing there are pimples and splodges on our face.

We are finding implementing the below is helping with A LOT of the skin conditions we are seeing come through this year, from acne to dryness & sensitivity.

Here are our main tips to make sure your skin is supported from the inside:

·      Drinking 2 L or water daily – water helps with the cleansing of the body, taking all the impurities & flushing them out. For glowing skin those internal impurities need to leave the body, so drink up girlfriend!

·      Electrolytes – Did you know that water by itself won’t hydrate you completely?! In order for water to actually stick to your cells you need electrolytes. Found in the way of tablets, powder or adding a high mineral salt to your water, a daily/bi-daily intake of electrolytes will help quench your thirst faster & hydrate your cells.

·      Omega 3&6 – the good oils that we have always been told that will improve our brain function also help support our skin to be plump and whole. The best way to boost quickly is to take a supplement, high quality from a health food store (there is also many non-fishy ones on the market now).

·      Eating before Caffeine – did you know that having a coffee before eating an spike your blood sugar levels & cortisol levels – see this blog for further reference https://orendawomenshealth.com.au/blog/top-3-morning-hacks-to-reduce-acne-breakouts

·      Eating a varied diet – All the colour of the rainbow helps to support your skin!

·      Going to the toilet daily – yes, we are talking about #2s! If this isn’t a regular occurrence for yourself, please ask us for recommendations for a naturopath to get you on your way!

·      Zinc supplements – if you keep having breakouts in the same spot or your cuts aren’t healing well, you could benefit from taking a Zinc supplement. Zinc helps with the healing of your skin. Be sure though to take with food, Zinc does not like an empty stomach!

If in doubt, please ask us for recommendations of Naturopaths that can help further.
